Westmoreland Cultural Trust selects Marine Corps veteran for interim CEO

Tribune-Review - 12/24/2018

Dec. 23--A Marine Corps veteran will take over as interim chief executive officer at the Westmoreland Cultural Trust, board members announced Sunday.

Nancy P. Anderson will start Jan. 2 as the board launches a search for a permanent president and chief executive officer after its previous director resigned last month, according to a news release.

Anderson has been a volunteer with the trust, in addition to other local, state and national nonprofits, since 2002.

"I am thrilled and honored to accept this responsibility and to have the chance to work with the talented and respected trust staff," Anderson said in the news release.

Her career in the military began in 1972 and was spent in tactical communications and computer operations.

She served as both battalion and base commanders overseeing more than 3,000 Marines, sailors and civilians. She retired in 2002 with the rank of colonel.

Michael Langer resigned as chief executive officer in November after 16 years leading the trust.
