Central Illinois groups awarded mental health grants

Herald & Review - 11/11/2023

Nov. 10—CHICAGO — Two Central Illinois applicants have been awarded grants to support post-pandemic child and adolescent health.

Christian County, along with Rise Behavioral Health and Wellness in Douglas County, each received $200,000, the maximum amount possible, Gov. J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health announced.

They were two of 19 different groups sharing $3.5 million funded by the state of Illinois and are intended to strengthen post-COVID-19 recovery efforts for school-based health needs and for preventing adverse childhood experiences in the post-pandemic era.
