ProDigits are myoelectric prosthetic fingers designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities and partial hand amputees. ProDigit fingers can be used to replace all five fingers (including the thumb) or any set of consecutive fingers. The fingers are mounted on a custom molded base that fits over the hand. Each finger has an individually powered motor and works with other fingers (natural and prosthetic) to produce a grasping action that closely reflects that of the human hand. ProDigits can be controlled via inputs from a force sensitive resistor (FSR) or by remote electrodes. Input options are chosen based on the signal site, available space or user preference. Each ProDigit prosthesis includes BioSim, a software toolset for clinical practitioners that features a selection of various control strategies, such as dual- and single-site electrode options and real-time assessment of the user's myoelectric impulses. BioSim also enables and disables of grip patterns, gestures and other features, including pulsing grip strength. It connects to the ProDigit fingers using a Bluetooth connection. Several cover options are available for the ProDigit prostheses including a variety of flesh tones and a semi-transparent cover.
