TacReadwas conceived by the team of Pranay Jain and Anshul Singhal while being students at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi under able guidance of their mentors Dr. P. V. Madhusudhan Rao, Dr. M. Balakrishnan and Dr. K. Gupta. Having completed their undergraduate studies at the institute, both are currently involved full-time to take TacRead to a full-scale commercial product and to create a paradigm shift in the industry. They are working as a part of Assistech Group, IIT Delhi.

 

 

Assistive Technologies Group consists of students, faculty members, users and user organizations at IIT Delhi working towards development of multiple assistive devices for the visually impaired in India. It collaborates with organizations working for visually impaired. One of its products titled Smart Cane, an electronic travel aid, is in translation stage with funding from Wellcome Trust, UK. Other projects under Assistech include Indoor Navigation System, Braille Tutor System and Bus Identification System for the visually impaired.

Pranay and Anshul, both classmates, have been working together as a team for the past three years on a multitude of occasions ranging conducting student workshops to participating in design competitions and research projects. Both have published multiple research papers in different fields of work and boast of having a sound and ever-improving skill set in design and engineering.
