BRIEF: Siri, Google Assistant offer auto Veterans Crisis Line call
Times Record - 7/16/2018
July 16--The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently announced military service members and veterans can connect to the Veterans Crisis Line by simply saying "Veterans Crisis Line" with the Siri function on iPhones and the Google Assistant function on Android phones.
The smartphones, once prompted, will now automatically dial the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The service also includes the Veterans Crisis Line, even if the number (800) 273-8255, is not saved in the phone's contact list.
Callers will simply need to press 1 in order to reach the Veterans Crisis Line.
